The name RichTechGuy comes from who I am. My name is Richard, a.k.a. Rich and I have a lifelong passion for computers and technology. I currently work as the manager of a Cisco focused technical team at a major IT, Computer & Technology distribution company and have worked in this industry since 2006. During my time in the industry, I have built out, installed and deployed Cisco Data Center solutions including converged architecture solutions with Cisco’s partner manufacturers such as NetApp and IBM. I hold a Cisco CCIE certification in Data Center along with 2 CCNA’s in Routing & Switching and Security, and a CCNP in Routing and Switching.
I started this blog for two reasons. First, I have a passion for IT and technology that I want to share with you. This covers the technology, understanding how to make systems work, or to provide my experience in the IT industry and what I see happening that I think is important and worth sharing. The second is as a study tool for myself. As I work to maintain my certifications, it helps me to process and digest the information if I’m able to explain the process or technology.
